Reflections from the Beach – Part 2

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

– Lamentations 3: 22-23

Standing and looking out over the ocean, the waters seem to go on forever.  I am reminded of God’s amazing and abundant love, grace, and mercy.  God’s love for us never ends and God’s mercies are new each morning.  The waters come to us, inviting us to enter in, trusting, encasing and washing over us.  I can imagine being flooded in God’s amazing love, grace, and mercy.  No matter what we have done or left undone, God can wash over us and make us clean to begin anew.  As I look at the abundant ocean waters, I am reminded that God’s abundant gifts are not for me alone, there is enough for all of humanity.

May the waters of God’s mercies wash over you, flooding, filling, and restoring you to wholeness and newness of life.
