Greetings in the Name of the Risen Christ!
We are a busy church!!
Work is being done on our sanctuary walls. Our security system is installed and we are just about to implement it (if you have a key to the church and have not given Jessica Schedin a four digit code, you need to soon!!). New and energy saving lights will soon replace our old, outdated and broken light fixtures. We have raised 2/3 of the money needed. Donations are greatly appreciated.
Health kits will be put together this Saturday at the spaghetti dinner. Thank you for the many donations. Your generosity is helping us to reach our goals of 75 kits. Please join us on Saturday as we assemble the kits with our spaghetti dinner guests. They will be delivered to Annual Conference next week along with our school kit collection.
Our Sunday school is growing and we are excited. With the sudden growth coming at the end of the school year, we need to think about how to keep our children engaged during the summer. This will be a discussion topic at the council meeting next Monday evening. If you have thoughts or ideas, please join us at 7:00 pm to share.
We continue support of our neighbors. We are getting more requests for rides to church. If you can assist, please speak with Pastor Pat.
Worcester Interfaith will be holding a refugee resettlement meeting on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 12:00 – 1:15 PM (lunch provided) at First Baptist Church, 111 Park Ave, Worcester MA. Lisa Brennan, our SNA Program Manager, and I will be presenting on refugee resettlement in Worcester. Pastor Pat will be attending. If you would like to learn more about the issues our new neighbors face and how we can assist, please join us.
Jim Head-Corliss has finished his discovery report and the church leadership team will be having a conference call with him regarding the report before the end of the month.
Join us Sunday as we celebrate our children, Christian education, and partake in a fund-raising breakfast hosted by the men’s group.
It is an exciting time at Epworth UMC!!! I am so glad you and I are part of what God is doing here!!
In Christ’s light and love,
Pastor Pat
